We are often asked, how close are you to town? Be careful when considering motel, hotel or other accommodation venues in Queenstown. We are a "genuine" 10 minute walk to Steamer Wharf on the edge of town. We suggest if you have sampled some of the excellent local wines that you may like to catch a taxi back at a cost of about NZ $7 - 8.

Do you have any disabled rooms?
Yes, Studio Room 11B on the ground floor has been specifically designed to cater for special needs guests with wheelchair access and handrails and a shower seat in the bathroom.

Are your apartments non-smoking?
New Zealand government regulations stipulate that smoking is banned from all interior public areas, however you can smoke outside on the balcony.

How often will my apartment be serviced? Just imagine for a moment the huge amount of towelling that is being laundered each day around the world! In keeping with our sustainability policy, we encourage you to hang your towels on the towel racks to dry.

Stays of 7 nights or longer will receive fresh linen (beds re-made), fresh towels and rubbish removed. If you would like your bedding linen changed more regularly simply contact our manager. We can arrange this for you at a nominal fee of NZ $19 per studio Room, NZ $25 per two-bedroom apartment or NZ $29 per three-bedroom apartment.

Where can I rent a DVD so I can fire up the fantastic Sony home theatre system in my apartment?

Where can I buy some groceries?
The biggest supermarket in town is Fresh Choice - 64 Gorge Road, Queenstown, Phone FREE from your apartment 441 1252.

Trading hours are 7am - Midnight, 7 days. Incidentally, this is where you can also buy the New Zealand made sustainable BEE cleaning products that are used in the cleaning of all our apartments.

When does daylight saving operate in New Zealand?
Daylight Saving commences on the last Sunday in September, when 2.00am became 3.00am. It ends on the first Sunday in April, when 3.00am becomes 2.00am.

How close are the ski fields to Alta apartments?
Coronet Peak is 20-minute drive, The Remarkables is a 40-minute drive, Cardrona is a 1-hour drive, Snow Park is also a 1-hour drive and Treble Cone is a 1.5-hour drive.

Where is a good place to rent my snow gear?
There are many great ski rental shops in town. We recommend the friendly team at Snow Rental, 39 Camp Street, Queenstown, telephone, 442 4187.

Where can I find a good physiotherapist?

I like to exercise each day, are there any walking trails nearby?
Sure, feel like a little morning exercise? Take a 45- minute walk to the Skyline Gondola on the Ben Lomond Trail, starting just 50 metres behind Alta Apartments. Then purchase a gondola and luge ride and ride the gondola back to Queenstown. There are a multitude of walks from the Ben Lomond trail entrance.

Or walk the trail along the Lake Esplanade around Queenstown Bay up to the Queenstown Gardens and back.
